What to do?
Coming home from work last night, I came across an oncoming semi driver that was attempting to avoid an Amish buggy. In his effort to swerve around the buggy, he proceeded to cross the center line, causing me to have to then avoid the semi. Is this right? Should semi drivers pass an Amish buggy without even slowing down, therefore endangering the oncoming traffic who is rightfully in their own lane? This happens all too often on US 27 especially around drive home time (5:00pm).
Should there be a law that forces people to slow down for buggies and wait to pass until it's safe? Or perhaps the berm is not wide enough for Amish? I respect the Amish community and do not wish for anyone, Amish or white man to be injured on our roads.
