Berne Rotary Club to host Russian leaders

In partnership with the Open World Leadership Center, the Berne Rotary Club has been selected to take part in the Open World program and will be hosting six Russian delegates, one facilitator, and one translator in Berne from June 4-12. Jeff Gaskill, President of the Berne Rotary Club, says, “We heard about this program through Rotary International. They sent out information and were looking for around 15 or 16 different sites around the United States with different topics to share from politics to education to, in our case, agriculture.” The Open World program, founded and sustained by the United States Congress, was created to enhance understanding and capabilities for cooperation between the United States and countries of Eurasia by developing a network of leaders in the region who have gained significant, firsthand exposure to America’s democratic government and free-market system.
