Sprunger thankful for community support

On January 26, 2015, Lance Sprunger walked into a pretty serious case of the Mondays at Spare Time Lanes. Upon entering the bowling alley around 10:00 a.m., he discovered a kitchen fire sparked by one of the building’s brand new fryers, which had malfunctioned. Sprunger described the scene as “devastating” and reported that the entire building was filled with smoke by the time he arrived. As fate would have it, the bowling alley kitchen was destroyed and had to be rebuilt and refurnished entirely. While the situation looked desperate for the kitchen, Spare Time Lanes found its biggest comfort and strength in the support of the community, which they felt almost instantly. “The fire department was unbelievable. In fact, there were a few (firefighters) here within minutes of the fire, and then the rest of fire department was here in ten minutes.” Sprunger recalled. But the communal aid didn’t stop there.
