Genevieve Snyder Nussbaum
Genevieve Snyder Nussbaum, 93, a resident of Berne, died at 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
She was born on July 28, 1915, in Allen County, to George and Dove (Osborn) Snyder. She was married on August 27, 1939, in Monroe, to Menno Nussbaum.
She was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Berne, where she was a member of the church’s senior Lamplighter group, a member of the Women’s Ministry, a Sunday school teacher for forty years, and a leader in the Children’s Ministries for forty years. She was a graduate of Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne. She was a former employee of the Ben Franklin dime store for ten years.
She is survived by one daughter, Doveanna (Rev. Dal) Fosnaugh of Bluffton; one sister, Marybelle Schwartz of Monroe; one brother, John Snyder of Brownsburg; two granddaughters, Michelle (Barry) Fisher of Geneva; and Christy (Myron) Klesner of Tyro, Kansas; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew; Aimee; and Abbie Fisher; and Emily; Joshua; and Caleb Klesner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 1999.
Visitation is from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7 at the Swiss Village Chapel, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service on Wednesday, July 8 at the Evangelical Mennonite Church. Officiating are Rev. Keith Fahl, Rev. Gareth Wiederkehr and Myron Klesner. Burial will be in the Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Mennonite Church or Gideons International.

Dorothy H. Adler
Dorothy H. Adler, 92, a resident of Decatur, died on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born on February 19, 1917, in Fountain County, to Charles E. and Verna F. (Wilson) Howard. She was married on May 3, 1941 to Thomas W. Adler.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Raymond M. (Kathy) Adler of Noblesville; two daughters, Dr.Verna (Keith) MacCornack of New York, New York; and Mrs. Theresa (Mark) Bachmann of Westport, Connecticut; one sister-in-law, Dorothy I. Adler of Monroe; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and one sister.
Visitation is from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. on Sunday, July 5 at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Monday July 6 at Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur. Officiating is Rev. Linn Bartling. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
