Clyde Richard ‘Dick’ Conrad, 71, of Noblesville passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel. He was born on December 29, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Clyde and Kathern (Ruble) Conrad. He was married on December 31, 1961 to Phyllis Meyer.
He retired from American States Insurance Company, where he had been a regional claims manager. He had worked for them for 26 years; had his CPCU certification; and taught insurance classes at Washburn University in Kansas. He was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Harbour Shores Church in Noblesville. He loved spending time with his family and sharing Christ with others. Evangelism was his passion throughout his life. He was the kind of person who was a friend to everyone he met. He loved watching western movies and loved his dog, Bella.
He is survived by wife; daughter, Lori (Dr. Olin) Dawkins; two sons, Pastor Jeffrey (Julia) Conrad; and Timothy (Kathryn) Conrad; sister, Jean Durkin; two brothers, Jerry Conrad; and Tony Conrad; aunt and uncle, Norma Gale; and Tony Chambers; and seven grandchildren, Courtney (Regan) Waters; Cole and Corbin Dawkins; Julie Conrad; Jonathan Conrad; Alyssa Conrad; and Isaac Conrad.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29 and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, March 30 at Harbour Shores Church, 8011 E. 216th St., Cicero. Officiating will be Pastor Larry O'Brien. Burial with military rites will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
