Corie Ida Galloway, 63, of Geneva passed away at 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, September 9, 1950 in Maryland to Frank and Almetta May Smith, Sr. She was married on September 25, 1973 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii to James R. Galloway.
She had worked at CTS and Economy Printing in Berne, as well as the Hilton Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida. She was also a babysitter for 40 years. She enjoyed camping, bingo, spending time with family and friends, and especially spending time with all children.
She is survived by her husband of Geneva; two sons, James M. (Erin) Galloway of Decatur; and Jesse L. (Sukie Biena Baril) Galloway of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; daughter, Melissa J. (Thomas Jr.) Peek of Muncie; four sisters, Goldie (Tony) Jenkins of West Virginia; Lilly (James) Anderson of Arkansas; and Mary (Joe) Claybo; and Margie Burris, both of Tennessee; brother, Frank A. Smith, Jr. of West Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Thomas Peek; Jeremi Galloway; Alek Galloway; Jesselene Galloway; Maysee Galloway; Biena Galloway; and Kensie Galloway.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, January 1 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Rev. Wilbur Taylor. Burial will be MRE Cemetery in Berne.
