Dale E. Meyer
Dale E. Meyer, 80, of Bluffton passed away at 1:48 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on December 6, 1931 in Bluffton to Jacob and Anne (Bucher) Meyer. He was married on June 14, 1953 in Cissna Park, Illinois to Glenda Kaye Hari. She passed away on September 28, 1996. He was married on July 17, 1999 in Syracuse to Sally Gerber.
He was a 1949 graduate of Lancaster High School. He was in financial estate planning for Lincoln Life for 42 years. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was a member of the US Army from 1954 to 1956.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Patti (Scott) Schwartz of Berne; son, Greg (Bev) Meyer of Ossian; step-daughter, Lisa (Kelly) Aschliman of Bluffton; two step-sons, Andy (Cindy) Shively; and Tony Shively, both of Bluffton; two sisters, Maxine (Truman) Worden of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Joan (Otto) Beer of New Paris; two brothers, Robert (Lela) Meyer; and Harold (Violet) Meyer, both of Bluffton; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25 and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Friday, September 26 at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Officiating will be Kent Ringger and Otto Beer, Jr. Burial will take place at Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 111 in conjunction with the US Army.
Memorials may be made to the Alpen Rose Unit of Swiss Village.
