Delores I. Shady
Delores I. “Dee†Shady, 82, a resident of Bluffton, died at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.
She was born on May 25, 1928, in Adams County, to John H. and Mary (Gehring) Baumgartner. She was married on March 14, 1948 to William “Bill†Shady.
She is survived by one son, Steven (Cathy) Shady; five sisters, Carolyn Yergler; and Helen Woodard, both of Bluffton; Anna Rose (Don) Lloyd of Greensboro, Georgia; Lillian (Kent) Sprunger of Berne; and Lois (Lloyd) Tackwell of Fort Wayne; four brothers, Galen (Joyce); Howard (Joyce); and Truman (Marjorie) Baumgartner, all of Bluffton; and Gene (Elaine) Baumgartner of Syracuse, New York; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 1, 2008; and one sister, Jo Ann Harter.
Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 9, and from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10 at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. service on Wednesday, August 11 at Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church. Officiating were Doyle Frauhiger and Nile Bucher. Burial was in Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
