Donald E. "Donnie" Leggett, 79, of Bryant passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born on Monday, April 23, 1934 in Portland to Bert and Nellie Fern (Evans) Leggett. He was married on Saturday, October 16, 1954 in Jay County to Rita Runyon.
He was the owner and operator of ATL Trucking for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Portland American Legion Post # 211. He and his family raised Quarter horses at their home for several years. He attended the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant.
He is survived by his wife of Bryant; daughters, Donna (Steven) Fosdick-Baumann of Decatur; and Robin McCollum of Union, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Corey Fosdick; and Chelsea Fosdick, both of Fishers; and Amber McCollum of Union, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; foster parents, Leo and Grace Siders; and five brothers, Cledith Leggett; Bob Leggett; Harry Leggett; Damen Leggett; and Keith Leggett.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Monday, November 18 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Strietelmeier and Vicar Robert Abner. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
