Ellen L. Lehman, 85, a resident of Berne, died at 10:25 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.
She was born on November 26, 1924, in Decatur, to Charles and Mary (Hoffman) Fisher. She was married on February 24, 1946 to LeRoy Lehman.
She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Berne, where she served on the church kitchen and funeral meal committees. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and cooking. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Steven (Nicky); Terry (Sue); and Michael (Wendy) Lehman, all of Berne; and Don (Jerri) Lehman of Craigville; one sister, Grace (Curtis) Nussbaum of Monroe; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Brice and Jim Fisher.
Visitation is from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service on Thursday, August 19 at the First Mennonite Church. Officiating is Rev. Jerry Flueckiger. Burial will be in MRE Cemetery in rural Berne.
Memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church Broadcast Ministry or the Mennonite Meat Canner.
