Emanuel T. Schwartz, 53, of Berne passed away at 4:04 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 27, 1959 in Adams County to Christie M. and Susan W. (Schwartz) Schwartz.
He was Old Order Amish and was part owner of Jefferson Country Store in rural Berne.
He is survived by his father; his step-mother, Katie J. (Wengerd) Schwartz; eight sisters, Lizzie (Ernest K.) Schwartz; Margaret T. Schwartz; Mary T. (Harvey C.) Christner; Lovina T. (Daniel E.) Miller; and Barbara T. Schwartz, all of Berne; Josephine (Ben C.) Christner; and Rebecca T. (Enos C.) Christner, both of Bryant; and Susan T. (Mose Q.) Schwartz of Licking, Missouri; six brothers, Jake (Rosa) Schwartz of Monroe; Joe T. Schwartz; Daniel T. (Dehlia) Schwartz; Christie T. Schwartz; Amos T. (Margaret) Schwartz; and Samuel T. (Lizzie) Schwartz, all of Berne; thirteen step-sisters; and 7 step-brothers.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1997; sister, Katie Schwartz; and brother, Enos Schwartz.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18 at his residence. Funeral services will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 19 also at his residence. Officiating will be Ben Girod. Burial will take place at Bunker Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
