Emma B. Schwartz
Emma B. Schwartz, 82, a resident of Monroe, died at 3:19 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at her residence.
She was born on Friday, May 4, 1928, in Adams County, to Daniel L. and Margaret E. (Schwartz) Schwartz. She was married on December 1, 1949, in Adams County, to Levi H. Schwartz.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Harvey L. (Lydia Mae); and Walter (Rosetta) Schwartz, both of Monroe; three daughters, Verna E. (David) Shetler; and Rosemary E. (Amos) Schwartz, both of Monroe; and Ruby E. (Pete) Eicher of Geneva; two half-brothers, Joni B. (Ida) Schwartz of Monroe; and Raymond (Maggie) Schwartz of Berne; one sister, Lydiann B. (Amos) Schwartz of Berne; 47 grandchildren; and 66 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Merlin L. Schwartz; four brothers, Ernest B.; Merlin B.; Daniel B.; and Samuel B. Schwartz; and one granddaughter, Laura Schwartz.
The family received friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, and will again from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1 at the Levi Schwartz residence, 3870 East, CR 300 South in Monroe. Service will be held at the residence at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 2. Officiating is Bishop Mervin Miller. Burial will be in the Schwartz Cemetery in Monroe.
