Erma Lucille “Lucy” Blair, 82 of Petroleum passed away at 2:38 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on April 20, 1931 in Wells County to Arnold and Gladys (Haughton) Ivins. She was married on May 12, 1956 in Fountain City to Carl L. Blair.
She graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1949. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Bluffton. She was a homemaker and worked at Kitco in Bluffton and retired from CTS in Berne in 1993. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing puzzles, watching birds, football, basketball, and NASCAR.
She is survived by her family; Larry (Joanne) Ivins; and Rick Blair, both of Indianapolis; Vickie (Jerry) Ripple; and Mike (Mary) Blair, both of Bluffton; Jack (Terri) Blair of Ossian; and Cindy (Brian) Koester of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Jesse (Sara) Blair of Carmel; Ryan Blair; and Nicole Blair, both of Bluffton; Jordan Blair of Ossian; and Brianna Koester of Fort Wayne; siblings, Virginia Ivins; and Kaye (Juanita) Ivins, both of Bluffton; and Ivan Ivins of Keystone; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Ivins of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 31, 1993; brother, Edson Ivins; and grandson, Chase Blair.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7 and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, October 8 at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Hunteman. Burial will be at Stahl Cemetery in Wells County.
