Estella Nussbaum, 86, of Berne passed away on May 1, 2013 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on March 5, 1927 in Wooster, Ohio to Amos and Lavina (Amstutz) Neuenschwander. She was married on May 12, 1949 to Reuben Nussbaum.
She was a homemaker and attended Bethel Church in rural Bluffton. She attended Geneva High School. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and word games.
She is survived by three sons, Art (Carolyn) Nussbaum of Berne; and Denver (Jane) Nussbaum; and Marvin (Lisa) Nussbaum, both of Monroe; two daughters, Arlene (John "Butch") Amstutz of Geneva; and Sharon (Tim) Stine of Lake Panosoffkee, Florida; daughter-in-law, Sheri Nussbaum of Leola, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Lloyd Neuenschwander of Berne; and Denver Neuenschwander of Geneva; sister, Lorene Brenneman of Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Ruby Neuenschwander of Berne; 22 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Merlin Nussbaum; two grandchildren, Kimberly Nussbaum; and Craig Amstutz; four brothers, Ellis, Joel, Ben, Wilbert Neuenschwander; and daughter-in-law, Linda Nussbaum.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 and one hour prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, May 5 at Swiss Village in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Stine. Burial will be at Mazelin Cemetery in rural Berne.
