Frieda P. Yager, 94, of Berne passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. She was born on April 9, 1917 in Wells County to Glen and Elta (Tinkham) Myers. She was married on June 9, 1940 to Sam Yager.
She was a homemaker and was active in community affairs and at Bethel Brethren Church. In church, she was Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and was a teacher at the Adams Central Bible School. She was employed at Berne Furniture for four years and was a secretary for Lehman Veterinary for ten years. She and her husband were church custodians for ten years. Her special interests included sewing, crocheting, quilting, ceramics, and jigsaw puzzles. She loved her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Miriam (Max) Reinhard; and Bernice (John H.) Augsburger, both of Berne; son, Glen (Carol) Yager of Berne; brother, Robert Myers of Berne; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2011; and two brothers, Melvin and William Myers.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17 at Swiss Village Chapel in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, February 18 at the Bethel Brethren Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Nass. Burial will take place at the Pleasant Dale Cemetery in rural Decatur. Graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m.
