Helen M. Stucky
Helen M. Stucky, 98, of Berne passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on May 4, 1914 to Calvin R. and Barbara S. (Lehman) Liechty. She was married on November 29, 1936 to Loris D. Stucky.
She was a resident of Swiss Village Retirement Community and a member of the First Mennonite Church. She graduated from Berne High School and Warner Beauty School in Fort Wayne. She was an employee of the Nussbaum Novelty and later was owner and operator of the Swan Beauty Shoppe. For 27 years, she worked as a waitress and salad maker for the Palmer House Restaurant, retiring in 1984. She was past president of the Berne Garden Club and the Home Economic Extension Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (David) Flueckiger of Berne; son, Kerry (Darlene) Stucky of Naperville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Scot (Holly) Flueckiger of Ottawa, Ohio; Stacy (Tim) Greer of Avon; Kristina Stucky of Naperville, Illinois; and Matthew (Melissa) Stucky of Rockford, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Collin and Kaleigh Flueckiger; and Nolan and Helene Greer; and sister, Elfrieda Pflueger of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2000; daughter, LuAnne Mae Stucky; four sisters, Edna Dester; Trella Norr; Maryann Reinhard; and Linda Liechty; and brother, Paul E. Liechty.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28 and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, December 29 at the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger. Burial will take place at the MRE Cemetery in Berne
