Henrietta Earhart, 85, of Decatur passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Woodcrest Nursing Home in Decatur. She was born on Wednesday, June 24, 1925, in Wells County to the late James William Harris and the late Viola Luella (Sutton) Harris.
She married Orva W. Earhart on December 4, 1943. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2002.
She was a former Jackson Township resident. She worked at the Bluffton Clinic for seven years. She also worked eight years at Van Buren Appliances, and worked two years at McDonald’s in Warren. She was a member of the Red Hat Club.
She is survived by a son, William E. ( Ebbie) Earhart of Gas City; three daughters, Nancy L. Whited of Decatur, Carolyn S. (John) Patch of Geneva, and Cindy K. (Joe) Compton of Warren. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Collier; a son, Daniel E. Earhart; seven brothers, William, Carl, Emery, Kenneth, Arthur, Earnie, and Charles Loren Harris, and four sisters, Nellie Murray, Della McFarren, Edith Penrod, and Marietta Harris.
Visitation is from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31 at Glancy-H. Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, September 1 at the funeral home. Burial will be at McFarren Cemetery in Bluffton.
