Jennifer Beth Shaw, 67, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2:45 a.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since December 13. She was born on February 24, 1945 in Berne to Horace and Hulda Sommer Lehman. She was married in 1988 to Dr. Byers W. Shaw.
She was a 1963 graduate of Berne-French High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. She later achieved a master’s degree in health administration. She was a registered nurse. She had a long affiliation with Hospital Corporation of America and served in various capacities from infection control to hospital administrator.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she had formerly played in the bell choir and was a member of the Tuesday Morning Share Group. She enjoyed quilting and belonged to several quilting clubs.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Monte Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; and Daryn Smith of Singapore and Clearwater, Florida; four children by marriage, Dr. Byers W. (Bud) Shaw, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Omaha, Nebraska; Mindy (Jeff) Wise of Tiffin, Ohio; Steve (Kim) Shaw of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Beth (Tom) Morris of Washington Court House, Ohio; brother, Stanley (Nancy) Lehman of Berne; sister, Marinell (Ted) Wagner of Florence, Arizona; sister-in-law, Sharlene Lehman of Berne; brother-in-law, Stan Teeter of Portland; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Derryl Lehman; and sister, Gloria Teeter.
A memorial service was held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22 at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington Court House, Ohio. Officiating was Rev. Everett L. Miller. A fellowship meal for family and friends took place in Persinger Hall at the church.
