Joan L. Conn
Joan L. Conn, 84, of Fort Wayne went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at her home. She was born in Adams County to Clyde and Elease Striker.
She worked at Parkview Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. She was a skilled seamstress, loved to read, knit, crochet and make afghans, which were donated to the church, to the homeless, and to shelters.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; son, Matthew (Tamatha) Conn of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Tamara (Steven) Frey of Hudson; and Merrilee (Ken) Kapsi of Kennewick, Washington; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Striker; and sister, Harriett Striker.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, July 12 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Rd., Fort Wayne. Officiating will be Rev. Jan Funk. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens.
