John P. Zehr
John P. Zehr, 85, of Berne passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on March 31, 1928 in Adams County to Preston and Esther (Sprunger) Zehr. He was married on July 8, 1950 to Betty Farlow.
He was a member of the First Missionary Church, where he was a member of the church board being the mission treasurer. He was also a Sunday school teacher. He was a lithographer at Economy Printing and later for Johnston Printing in Bluffton. He enjoyed reading and traveling.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol (Dan) Rupp of Fort Wayne; and Jan (Dean) Meyers of Muncie; four grandchildren, Kristi (Scott) Gibson; Ryan (Stephanie) Rupp; Kyle (Casey) Meyers; and Landon (Sara) Meyers; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother, Michael Zehr; and granddaughter, Natalie Meyers.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at the First Missionary Church front vestibule. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at the MRE Cemetery Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Max Haines.
Memorial may be made to the First Missionary Church Missions or Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
