John T. Neuenschwander

John T. Neuenschwander, 87, of Bluffton passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. He was born on May 19, 1926 in Wells County to William and Lizzie (Schwartz) Neuenschwander. He was married on November 20, 1949 in Bluffton to Irene E. Isch.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Along with being an excavator, he and his wife were the former owners of the Snug Café in Bluffton.
He is survived by his wife of Bluffton; three sons, Randy J. (Judy) Neuenschwander of Berne; Michael A. (Candace) Neuenschwander of Bluffton; and Joe W. (Amy) Neuenschwander of Bowie, Maryland; daughter, Linda K. (Jeff) McAfee of Berne; two brothers, William Neuenschwander; and Charles (Doris) Neuenschwander, both of Bluffton; three sisters, Lucille Grandlienard; Betty (William) Frauhiger; and Joyce (Howard) Baumgartner, all of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Gary Lee Neuenschwander; brother, Walter Neuenschwander; and five sisters, Virgil Isch; Ellen Fiechter; Ada Gerber; Martha Heyerly; and Ann Frauhiger.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, June 20 at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Officiating will be Doyle Frauhiger and Steve Frauhiger. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.
Military graveside honors will be performed by the United States Army Honor Guard in conjunction with American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton.
