Lehnford L. Bohnke
Lehnford L. “Bud” Bohnke, 78, of Decatur passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on September 27, 1935 in Decatur to Herman and Louise (Bienz) Bohnke.
He was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church-Fuelling. He was a member of the D.H.I.A. Dairy Association. He sold and produced milk for Allen Dairy, which became Prairie Farms Dairy for over 50 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Kaylehn (Larry) Brunner; and Rita (Jim) Hill, both of Decatur; and Arnita (Brian) Heyerly of Monroe; two sons, Eric (Melissa) Bohnke of Walkerton; and Mark (Alysse) Bohnke of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Willmott Bohnke; and brother, Willmott Bohnke.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 18 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Martin K. Moehring. Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter Immanuel Lutheran School.
