Leo L. Nussbaum, 95, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Westminster Suncoast. He was born on June 27, 1918 in Adams County to Samuel D. and Margaret (Mazelin) Nussbaum. He was married on November 25, 1942 to Janet Gladfelter.
He received degrees from Ball State University and a doctorate from Northwestern University. As a teacher and leader, he dedicated many years of service at the University of Dubuque, Austin College, Coe College, and the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College.
He is survived by two daughters, Felicity (John Agnew) Nussbaum; and Margaret (Guy) Cooley; son, Luther (Ginger) Nussbaum; two brothers, Carl Nussbaum (formerly of Berne) 3733 Ben Creek Ct. Aledo, TX 76008; and Milo Nussbaum of Morton, Illinois; sister-in-law, Maxine (Alvin) Nussbaum of Berne; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers, Alvin, Elmer, Reuben, and Victor Nussbaum; and grandson, Marc Wilett.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2 at Westminster Suncoast, The Quak Center for Lifelong Learning, St. Petersburg, Florida.
