LeRoy J. Lehman, 87, of Berne passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on September 13, 1925 to Levi and Emma (Liechty) Lehman. He was married on February 24, 1946 to Ellen Fisher.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, where he was an usher for many years and a volunteer with the annual meat canner project. He was a lifetime dairy and grain farmer. He enjoyed watching sports, gardening, visiting with friends, mushroom hunting, and reminiscing with friends in Swiss.
He is survived by four sons, Steven (Nicki) Lehman; Terry (Susan) Lehman; and Michael (Wendy) Lehman, all of Berne; and Don (Jerri) Lehman of Craigville; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, December 19 at the First Mennonite Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger. Burial will take place at the MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church Broadcast Ministry and the Mennonite Meat Canner Project.
