Merlyn Dubach

Merlyn Dubach, 89, formerly of Portland, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Albany Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born on June 13, 1923 in Blackford County to Ollie and Bessie (Rains) Garrett. She was married on February 16, 1957 to Robert Dubach.
She was a homemaker and retired from Pennville Custom Cabinets. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by six daughters, Colleen (Junior) Norris; Janet (Lester) Park; Carol (Ron) Paxson; Rhonda (Randy) Davidson; and Mary Lou (Dennis) Frazee, all of Pennville; and Linda (Butch) Gray of Portland; brother, Don Garrett of Parkerburg, West Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband on January 14, 2009.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18 at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Kris McPherson. Burial will take place at the Apostolic Cemetery in Adams County.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or Jay County Cancer Society.
