Naomi V. Von Gunten
Naomi V. Von Gunten, 94, of Berne passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on October 2, 1918 in Adams County to Caleb and Ottelia Sprunger. She was married on July 4, 1937 in Berne to Sherman Von Gunten.
She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, where she was a member of Women in Mission. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, and caring for flowers.
She is survived by two daughters, Neva (Derryle) Pharr of Berne; and Sueann (John) Alter Von Gunten of Elkhart; son, Roger (Bonnie) Von Gunten of Berne; foster son, Richard Sudduth of Fort Loramie, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Kenneth (Sara) Von Gunten; and Dean (Marcia) Von Gunten; brother, David Sprunger; and three sisters, Laura Kirchhofer; Lillian Fox; and Bernice Bell.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3 at the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne and one hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, November 4 at the First Mennonite Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Linthicum. Burial will take place at the MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church Mission Festival.
