Nick L. Secaur
Nick L. Secaur, 75, of Decatur passed away at 3:12 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born on January 17, 1938 in Adams County to Kenneth and Lucille (DeBolt) Secaur. He was married on July 11, 1959 to Carla Snyder. She passed away on March 13, 2001. He was married on November 23, 2002 at New Life Fellowship in Decatur to Karen Heckert Drake.
He graduated from Decatur High School and was a police officer for the City of Decatur for 20 years. After his retirement from the police department, he continued to work for Adams County for 15 years. He was involved with LOVE, Inc. and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, and computers.
He is survived by his wife of Decatur; daughter, Terri A. Schloss of Sevierville, Tennessee; son, Jody A. (Gloria Hatcher) Secaur of Sevierville, Tennessee; three step-daughters, Tonya (David) Clevenger; and Danette (Chad) Von Gunten, both of Berne; and Bobbie (Damion) Lucas of Howe; six grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ron Secaur.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10 and three hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, June 11 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Molly Farthing. Burial will be at Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Magley.
