Richard K. Schnitz
Richard K. Schnitz, 89, of Decatur died at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur. He was born on November 21, 1922 in Decatur to Merrill N. and Florence L. (Snyder) Schnitz. He was married on November 13, 1943 in Bluffton to Helen B. Brown.
He is survived by two sons, P. Daniel (Joyce) Schnitz of Monroe; and T. David (Sheila) Schnitz of Decatur; daughter, Ruth E. Gallogly of Decatur; and brother, Ralph A. Schnitz of Defiance, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on September 18, 2011; brother, Robert J. Schnitz; and grandson, Jeffrey Daniel Schnitz.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Whitney West. Burial will take place at Decatur Cemetery.
