Robert W. Wittwer

Robert W. Wittwer, 82, of Bluffton passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton. He was born on Saturday, March 1, 1930 in Adams County to Jesse Dale and Blanche (Lanning) Wittwer. He was married on Tuesday, November 4, 1958 in Coldwater, Michigan to Virginia Farlow.
He was a graduate of Berne High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He was the former owner of Wittwer Auto Sales in Bluffton and also worked at Case Trucking, Hoosier Condensery, Kaade Motors and Larry Hiday Motors, all of Bluffton. He had been a member of the Grover Sheets American Legion Post #111 of Bluffton for over 50 years. He was a lifetime resident of the Berne and Bluffton areas.
He is survived by his wife of Bluffton; brother, Joe L. Wittwer of Berne; and sister-in-law, Mary Smith of Poneto.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-daughter, Stephanie Albertson.
Mausoleum entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
Military rites will be conducted at the graveside.
