Roy D. Stucky
Roy D. Stucky, 88, of Bronson, Michigan, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on March 7, 1925 in Berne to Florenz and Metta (Nussbaum) Stucky. He was married on March 25, 1945 to Mary Louise Trump.
He was a member of the East Ovid United Brethren Church in Coldwater, Michigan. He retired in 1988 from National Oil & Gas in Bluffton. He served in the United States Army during World War II, serving from June 1943 through February 1946 and was wounded in action in Germany on December 12, 1944. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Eame Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Metal, Purple Heart; and the Victory Metal.
He is survived by a son, Donald (Margie) Stucky of Monroe; three daughters, Marlene (Wayne) Etzler; and Louise (Greg) Gaskill, both of Decatur; and RoyaAnn (Randy) Sheets of Bronson, Michigan; brother, Max Stucky of Angola; two sisters, Ruby Brouer of Lagrange; and Bonnie Wall of Bluffton; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on September 14, 2012; four sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Troy Green. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
