Ruth A. Fox
Ruth A. Fox, 93, of Berne passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on September 13, 1920 in Adams County to Carl and Rachel (Hirschy) Burley. She married on May 29, 1941 to Melvin Fox.
She was employed at Swiss Village for 26 years, serving as supervisor in the housekeeping-laundry department. She was a member of the Council on Aging organization in Berne and the West Missionary Church, where she was active in the music ministry. She was also a former Berne Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Fox of Westfield; son, Mark Fox of Evansville; three brothers, Robert Burley of Winona Lake; John Burley of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and Lynford Burley of Berne; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Renee Mason; three brothers, Merrel, Clarence R., and Carl L. Burley; and six sisters, Luella, Agnes, and Helen Burley; Mahala Schuelke, Marie Toland; and Gladys I. Clark.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22 with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Swiss Village Auditorium. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Rupp. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Memorials may be made to the West Missionary Church Building Fund or the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
