Sheila Y. Nevsimal, 78, of Berne passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at home. She was born on October 14, 1935 in Losantville to Norman and Frances (West) Harris.
She was a nurse and was employed at Chalet Village in Berne. She volunteered at the Berne Public Library teaching children how to crochet. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, and traveling.
She is survived by a son, James Lindsey of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Evelyn S. Hofstetter of Geneva; and Jo (James) Biagi of Berne; two sisters, Shirley Karnes of Vandalia, Ohio; and Sharlene Wetendorf of Decatur; two brothers, Mick Harris of Farmland; and Jimmie Harris of Muncie; six grandchildren, Amanda Webb; Maria Lindsey; Christian Halterman; Gloria and Brian Biagi; and Sierra Parker; and nine great-grandchildren, including Jayden Kausing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Nevsimal; and two brothers, Donnie and Curtis Harris.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, December 14 at the MRE Cemetery Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be David Stalker. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery.
