Victor H. Laux

Victor Henry Laux, 97, of Geneva passed away at 12:55 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Chalet Village Health & Rehabilitation in Berne. He was born on Wednesday, December 29, 1915 in Bryant to Joseph and Frances (Wellman) Laux. He was married on October 11, 1940 to Fay Weaver.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. He was a member of the Decatur American Legion Post #43. He retired from GE in Decatur in 1976, after 20 years of service. He was a member of the St. Mary of The Presentation Parish in Geneva.
He is survived by his son, Larry (Nancy) Laux of Berne; daughter, Janet (Tony) Lengerich of Decatur; two sisters, Sister Rosie Laux of Salem Heights, Ohio; and Esther Frisbie of St. Marys, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on December 5, 1999; three brothers, Eugene Laux; Ray Laux; and Joe Laux; and three sisters, Sister Agnes Laux; Helen Montgomery; and Bernice Eichelberger.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4 and from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 5 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5 at the St. Mary's of the Presentation Church, 5790E 1100S, Geneva. Officiating will be Father J. Bosco Perera. Burial will be at St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church Cemetery in Geneva.
