Virginia C. McClure

Virginia C. (Nussbaum) McClure, 88, of rural Carlock, Illinois died on Monday, June 25, 2012 of congestive heart and respiratory failure at Advocate BroMenn Health Center in Normal, Illinois. She was born on July 14, 1923 in Berne to Clifton E. and Louise (Lehman) Nussbaum. She was married on May 1, 1949 to Edwin J. McClure.
She was a homemaker who loved music, reading and was a longtime member of East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock, Illinois. She enjoyed many church activities including choir, Mission Circle, her Wednesday evening small group Bible study, library committee, and teaching Sunday school.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Robert) Jensen of West Melbourne, Florida; and Sara (Douglas) Johnson of Guatemala; three sons, John (Laurie Smith) McClure of Ashton, Illinois; David (Linda Rowley) McClure of Carlock, Illinois; and Timothy (Vicki O'Quinn) McClure of Lancaster, California; sister, Doris Hasler Everett (Fritz) Thomann of Noble, Illinois; four brothers, Harold (Marie) Nussbaum; and David (Carolee) Nussbaum, both of Berne; and Charles (Mary) Nussbaum; and A. John (Marilyn) Nussbaum, both of Fort Wayne; brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. DeWayne of Whiteland; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with two more expected; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judith; sister, Lena Felber; sister-in-law, Audrey Nussbaum; and brother-in-law, Carl Hasler.
Visitation was from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28 and one hour prior to the 11:00 funeral service on Friday, June 29 at East White Oak Bible Church, 11922 East 2000 North Rd., Carlock, Illinois.
