Vivian F. Sprunger

Vivian F. Sprunger, 90, of Berne passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on February 18, 1923 in Adams County to Clemet and Mahala (Reusser) Gottschalk. She was married on January 27, 1946 to Ornell Sprunger.
She was a homemaker and worked at the G.E. plant in Decatur. She was a member of the First Missionary Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the hospitality committee. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, and solving word puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters, Myrna (Ladd) Wheeler of Crofton, Maryland; and Betty Sprunger of Peru; two sons, Ted (Jan) Sprunger of Fort Wayne; and Bob (Sara) Sprunger of Berne; sister, Marjorie DeArmond of Berne; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Anita Jo Sprunger; sister, Phyllis Conrad; and brother, Rev. Truman Gottschalk.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3 and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, January 4 at the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Max Haines. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Memorials may be made to the First Missionary Church Missions or World Team Missions (ministry of granddaughter, Cherie in Brazil, South America).
