William M. Schaadt
William M. "Bill" Schaadt, 72, of Chattanooga, Ohio passed away from cancer on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 15, 1940 in Mercer County, Ohio to Victor and Luella (Affolder) Schaadt. He married on September 23, 1964 in Berne to Judy Ousley, who preceded him in death. He was later married on April 23, 1977 to LaDonna McCullough Case.
He retired from International Harvester in 2000 and worked for Berne Furniture for an additional seven years. He also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed farming throughout his life. He was baptized in the Bethel Brethren Church in Berne and attended The Bridge Church in Decatur. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting "Case" and "Purina" pocket knives.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Tracy (David) O'Dell of Columbus; step-son, Eric (Sunni) Case of Eaton; two brothers, Ralph (Ginny) Schaadt of Bluffton; and John (Cathy) Schaadt of Decatur; six grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his in-laws, James and Ella McCullough.
Graveside services for family and friends will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at the MRE Cemetery in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Mo Hodge.
