Hayden Black accounted for half of Adams Central’s offense, and nearly all of it in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a slow start by the Jets as they lost 53-48 to Canterbury in the semi-final round of the South Adams Class 2A boys’ basketball sectional Friday night.
Woodlan defeated Churubusco 62-59 in the other semi-final match-up and will face the Cavaliers in the championship game, scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Stardome.
Black scored just two points in the first half as Adams Central fell behind Canterbury 22-13. The Jets managed just four first half field goals – only one in the second quarter.
