Braves pull away from Starfires late
South Adams got a big charge off the bench and a career-high scoring night from senior Blake Fox, but it was not enough to overcome the balanced offense and free throw shooting of Bellmont as the visiting Braves handed the Starfires their sixth straight loss Friday night at the Stardome 68-52 in varsity boys’ basketball.
The six straight losses is the longest such string since South Adams lost 19 straight during the 2009-10 season. The Starfires (2-6) will try and end that skid as they entertain Union (Modoc) Friday night at the Stardome. The Rockets are 6-1 and coming off their first loss of the season – against Liberty Christian.
