Broncos deny Starfires in opener
Unable to conjure up any kind of sustained offense, South Adams dropped its season opening girls’ basketball game against Daleville, 23-21, Thursday evening at the Stardome.
The host Starfires (0-1) had a short-lived 6-5 lead with 20 seconds left in the first quarter, but went without a field goal the entire second quarter and fell behind. South Adams went nearly 12 minutes before its next field goal, a short baseline lay in by Maddie Morgan with 4:35 left in the third quarter, and trailed 14-9 as a result.
