Blackford outscored South Adams 20-5 during the second quarter and ran away with a 56-29 victory Saturday night in a varsity girls’ basketball at the Stardome.
The loss drops South Adams to 0-2 and runs the Starfires’ winless streak to 21 total games. Blackford improves to 2-0.
South Adams was keeping the game close early on; trailing just 12-6 at the end of one quarter, but Blackford began capitalizing on the game’s quick tempo and turned several Starfire turnovers into a big second quarter.
The Bruins led 32-11 by halftime, and extended their lead with a 24-18 second half closing run.
