Bulldogs step up “D”, stop AC
NEW HAVEN – New Haven used an 11-3 run to start the fourth quarter, and stepped up the defense in the second half and went on to defeat Adams Central at New Haven Friday night, 72-61.
The Jets and the Bulldogs fought on fairly even terms in the first quarter which ended with New Haven holding a 12-11 lead. In spite of Notre Dame recruit V.J. Beachem ending the first half with 14 points, Adams Central got 10 first-half points from Maverick Baumer and led at the end of the first half, 31-26. Included in Baumer’s total was a slam dunk over New Haven’s 6-9 Kyle Sovine.
