Central beats Starfires 3-0
The experience in closing out matches paid dividends for Adams Central Thursday night as it fought off a strong challenge from South Adams in varsity volleyball at the Stardome 3-0.
The Jets (12-7, 4-2 ACAC) broke away from the Starfires in the opening game and won 25-17, but faced the threat of losing the second game when South Adams reached game point. Central rallied to knot the score at 25-25 and went on to win 27-25. With their momentum stopped South Adams was unable to keep pace with the Jets in the final game and lost 25-14.
