Central edges Heritage 3-2
Adams Central evened its season record at 5-5 and opened Allen County Athletic Conference play with a 1-0 mark after scoring a 3-2 victory over Heritage Tuesday night in Monroe.
Adams Central lost the first set, 19-25, but came back to win the next two 25-22, 26-24. Heritage evened the score with a 25-18 win in the fourth set, but Central held on for a 15-13 win in the deciding game.
Chelsie Eads led the Jet attack with 13 kills. Whittney Peterson and Bess Fiechter both finished with nine kills. Abbey Lichtle had eight and Alyssa Keller four.
Keller set up the Central offense with 31 assists. She also had two aces. Abby Snyder served two aces and Liz Luginbill had one.
Keller had 14 digs, Luginbill had 12 and Alexa Baller finished with 11. Lichtle had three blocks, and Fiechter added two.
Kaitlin Carroll, Kelsey Pritchard and Meghan Manley had four kills each to lead Adams Centralâ€™s reserve team to a 25-15, 25-10 victory. Madi Schwartz had three kills, four digs, three aces and 13 assists. Jen Kahlert added three kills and two blocks. Sam Fisher served three aces and Carroll added two.
