Central falls in Class 2A title contest
INDIANAPOLIS - If there were any questions about how strong this year's Adams Central girls softball team had become, they were dispelled in the Class 2A state championship game at Ben Davis High School Saturday when the Jets had the defending state champions on edge for seven innings before dropping a 3-1 decision to number one ranked South Putnam.
In the end, it was the Eagles' ability to connect extra base hits and take advantage of a couple of AC miscues, plus the strong pitching of ace hurler Brooke Boetjer, that made the difference in the game.
