Central falls short in ACAC semi-finals
Adams Central got off to a slow start and then came on with a major surge in the ACAC semifinals on Thursday. But the Jets couldn't overcome the deficit they had fallen into as the local squad succumbed to Woodlan, 15-25, 25-23 and 23-25.
"We would get down a little, then we had to keep fighting back to get into the game," said Adams Central head coach Ashley Beard. "Ultimately, we didn't quite overtake Woodlan. I am proud of the way the girls worked hard to fight back."
One of the Jets' biggest woes all night was the killer instinct of Woodlan sophomore Tori Bontrager, who was relentless in getting to the ball and pounding it into the AC defense.
