Central girls win second straight
Madison CarrollAdams Central won its second straight varsity girls’ basketball game Tuesday night, beating Lakewood Park Christian 51-40. The win raises Central’s record to 4-8 and gives the Lady Jets four wins in its last six games after starting the season with six straight losses.
After shooting out to an 8-3 lead in the first quarter, Central was outscored 15-8 in the second quarter and went into the second half trailing by two. A 15-10 third quarter run erased that deficit and put the Lady Jets in front 31-28 going into the final eight minutes. Central outscored Lakewood 20-12 in the fourth period.
