Central lets lead slip late
After staking itself a six-point lead in the fourth quarter, Adams Central saw things slip away as Blackhawk Christian went on a 14-0 run and beat the host Lady Jets 51-43 in varsity girlsâ€™ basketball Friday night in Monroe.
Central (0-1) held leads and the end of periods one (11-10) and three (32-30), but was outscored during period two (11-8) and four (21-11). Blackhawkâ€™s biggest lead was 11 when it led 49-38 during the fourth quarter.
Madison Carroll led Adams Central with 11 points and nine rebounds. She also had four steals and four assists.
Lindsey McDougall was 5-for-5 from the field and scored 10 points for the Lady Jets.
