Central rallies by South Adams
Katrina HawkinsAdams Central rallied from a five-run deficit and dealt South Adams a crushing 10-9 loss in varsity softball Thursday evening in Berne.
The Starfires (5-10, 1-5 ACAC) held a 6-1 lead and had two outs in the top of the fifth inning when Mariah McMillen hit a two-run double for the Jets, cutting South Adams’ lead in half.
South Adams responded in the home half of the inning when LaTessa Herrera drove in a pair of runs to put the Starfires in command 8-3, but the Jets rallied for six runs in the top of the sixth to take a 9-8 lead.
