Jets spoil Starfires upset bid
It was a bridge too far for the South Adams Starfires in Wednesday night’s sectional opener against rival Adams Central at the Stardome, as they came up heartbreakingly short in the final thirty seconds of the game to lose 47-48 after 32-minutes of feisty, inspired basketball.
The Starfires (2-18) only trailed the Jets (13-8) twice the entire night, but their last lead was surrendered with only half a minute to play, causing Adams Central fans to leave mopping their brow in relief and the home crowd to leave thinking about what might have been.
