Jets upset ACAC leading Leo
Mary FoxAdams Central got to Leo starter Jessica Claxton early and held on for an 8-3 upset win over the 3A No. 5 Lions Tuesday evening in Monroe. The loss was the first for Leo in Allen County Athletic Conference action, and raised Central’s league mark to 3-3. The Jets are now 9-9 overall.
The Jets scored four times in the second inning, getting a two-run single by Mary Fox with the bases loaded. Bess Fiechter and Jenae Blackburn followed with run-scoring singles to put AC up 4-0.
Leo scored three times in the third, but the Jets added two more runs in the fourth, getting an RBI double from Alyssa Keller and a run-scoring single by Sammie Baker.
